The Marine Biological Laboratory is pleased toannounce the availability of funding for 2011 Research Awards. Theseprestigious awards provide costs for research and housing, and also enableawardees to benefit from the rich intellectual and interactive environment ofthe scientific community at the MBL. Funding requires a minimum stay of sixweeks at the MBL.

Research awards can be used to support independent research in the Rowebuilding in independent lab space, collaborative research in a residentscientist's lab, or in the Loeb building in affiliation with the discoverycourses. Research proposed in the resident program or courses requirespre-approval of the host lab and program and the course directors,respectively, and the CASO office.

Proposals for Research award support will be considered in, but are not limitedto, the following fields of investigation:

• Cell Biology

• Developmental Biology

• Ecology

• Evolution

• Microbiology

• Neurobiology

• Physiology

• Tissue Engineering
