International Workshop on Nutrition in a Changing Global Environment

Professor of the Department of General Medical Practice, Prevention and
Evidence-Based Medicine of the Tver State Medical Academy A. A. Rodionov took
part in international program on “Nutrition in a Changing Global Environment”
(February 21 - March 17, 2011) conducted jointly by the Israel’s Agency for
International Development Cooperation - MASHAV and the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem (Israel) at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and
Environment of the Hebrew University campus in Rehovot.
The tuition
fee, accommodation and living expenses were covered by the grant from MASHAV
given to Dr. Rodionov on a competitive basis.
The course
focused on physiological nutritional needs of different population groups,
dietary recommendations, long term affects of diet on health, critical
evaluation of nutritional studies, and community awareness on the appropriate
food choices. The international audience of the course included faculty
members, government’s members and advisors, representatives of NGOs and
business. In the context of the course
Dr. Rodionov presented his project on nutrition and health in the Tver region.
