Celebration of the Year
of India in Russia at Tver State Medical Academy
Celebrating the Year of India in Russia the Indian Students Association of Tver State Medical Academy organized the annual cultural program of Indian students "Rangoli" on April 18, 2009 in the premises of the Academy.

Representatives from the Indian Embassy in Moscow were invited among whom the festival was attended by Mr. C. Suresh Kumar, Attaché of education . From the administration of Tver State Medical Academy Respected Chancellor Professor Kalinkin M.N., President Professor Davidov B.N., Vice Chancellor for International Students and Foreign Affairs Professor Bazenov D. V., Vice Chancellor for Educational Affairs Doctor Kileynikov D. V. and Dean of the International College of Medical Education Professor Ivanov A. G., and other honorable guests were present to share their love and affection towards the students and the Indian culture. Teachers from various departments of the Academy were also there to show their blessings on the students.
The program was divided into 2 parts. The first part was the Fun Fair "Vasant Ka Mela", it was organized in the canteen of the academy. The fair started at 4 pm. Different stalls including Indian food and soft drinks, mini games, songs, dances and a spectacular show about India created a lively atmosphere. The concert started at 6 pm in the concert hall. In overall 30 shows were presented by TverSMA students. In the 1st part of the concert there was an amazing show of India's variety of cultures depicting the major aspects of different states of India. It included the instrumental fiancé of Mr.Radhe Shyam Sharma together with his team from the Indian Embassy in Moscow.
Show also included folk dances like Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Tamil folk
dance, Gujarati folk dance - Garba, Punjabi folk dance - Bhangra and a heart winning performance of Sri Lankan folk dance by Sri Lankan students. The beautiful and colorful costumes that were shown attracted everyones attention. A heart touching documentary dedicated by 6th year students was presented for the Academy and the teachers.
The second part was full of excitement and enjoyment. Various dances like hip hop, disco and electro dance filled the hall with roars of claps and appreciation of the audience. Program ended with a blast with the Bhangra team energetic performance.
The program received a hearty appreciation from the guests and the audience. Mr. C. Sureshkumar of the Indian Embassy in Moscow presented his wish to be a part of the Indian cultural program of Tver State Medical Academy every time when organized.
