On April 28, 2023, a cultural event dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was held in the conference hall of the Tver State Medical University. The literary and musical composition "Victory Day: Immortality of the Great Feat" was prepared and presented by the members of the International Friendship Club with the support of the Department for work with foreign students, the Department for educational work and teachers of the Russian language department.
The guests of the event were Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs L.A. Murashova, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation O.N. Bakhareva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs R.N. Chirkov, vice-rector for educational work and youth policy S.A. Sokolov, Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs Zh.A. Romanova, deans of General Medicine and Dentistry faculties O.V. Volkova and O.A. Gavrilova.
At the beginning of the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs L. A. Murashova spoke. She addressed the participants and spectators with welcoming words, emphasizing that it is necessary to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 - the main component of the historical consciousness of the nation.
The literary and musical composition "Victory Day: Immortality of the Great Feat" was attended by Russian and foreign students, as well as students of the preparatory department, who in their performances conveyed the tragedy of the terrible war years. The poems of Y. Drunina, R. Rozhdestvensky, A. Tvardovsky, K. Simonov, I. Utkin, D. Samoilov sounded heartfelt. No one was left indifferent to songs about the war performed by foreign and Russian students: "Катюша", "Темная ночь", "Нам нужна одна победа...", "Если б не было войны", "На всю оставшуюся жизнь". The school waltz, performed by Russian students, emphasized the terrible destructive power of war, which takes away the youngest and purest in hearts and souls of people. The participants of the event, heirs of the Great Victory, spoke about their great-grandfathers - heroes who went through a bloody war and defeated a cruel enemy.
The keynote of the cultural event was the feat of medical workers who during the Great Patriotic War showed themselves to be patriots of their country, giving all their strength and life itself in the name of saving people.
At the end of the event, Vice-Rector for International Affairs R.N. Chirkov spoke, who noted that the memory of the events of the war, its outstanding participants, the feats of our compatriots, the bitterness of the huge losses spiritually unite people all over the Earth.
The event ended with a moment of silence, during which the participants and guests of the event paid tribute to the memory of all those who died during the terrible war years.
